Casinos with RV Parks Want You To Stay and Play

Published on May 12th, 2022 by Contributor, Let's RV

In most places, gaming casinos are happy to let RVers “casino camp” for free in their parking lot. But now they’re kicking things up a notch. Many casinos with RV parks are attracting high-rolling RV campers in search of luxury resort amenities, shopping, entertainment, and of course, gaming excitement.

A Quick Start Guide to Free Casino Camping and RV Resorts

RV casino campgrounds

If you like games of chance, betting on casino camping usually pays off if you’re over age 21. In my RV travels I’ve never been turned away for free casino camping (where it’s allowed). Most casinos welcome RVers and truckers to stay overnight in their ginormous parking lots. Casinos make great overnight stops for three big reasons:

  1. casinos usually have a “players club” you can join for gaming and food discounts
  2. most casinos have restaurants for those boondocking nights when you don’t want to cook
  3. and casinos always have some kind of security patrolling the parking lot

Is free casino camping legal?

In most cases yes, free casino camping is legal. But just like when you try free overnight camping at Walmart and other big box stores, it’s smart to check with casino authorities before getting comfortable in their parking lot.

  • Even if you see other RVs in the parking lot, always check with security.
  • Quite often the casino requires overnight RVers to sign in and register their vehicle.
  • And, there might be a certain place where they want you to park.

This might feel like a hassle after a long day driving, but it’s always for your protection. Of course the casino wants you to take advantage of their gaming opportunities. As a courtesy to them, always go into the casino and spend a little bit of money to show your appreciation for the free overnight parking.

What about casino camping resorts?

When free casino camping isn’t allowed, it’s usually because the casino went to the expense of building an RV park. Guest amenities vary from casino to casino. But at the very least you can expect a safe place to park with RV hookups. I’ve been to some casino RV campgrounds that were nothing more than a patch of land within walking distance to the casino. And I’ve also camped at luxury casino resorts with more amenities than some nice hotels.

You never know until you give it a try. Start with this list of top rated casino RV parks in Alabama, Indiana, Washington, and California. They’re all guaranteed to add some excitement to your own casino camping experiences!

Alabama: Wind Creek Atmore Casino RV Park

RVers overwhelmingly vote this one of the best casino RV parks in the country, and for good reason. Located off Interstate 65 near Mobile, Alabama, Wind Creek Atmore Casino RV park has full-hookups, a dog park, restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, casino resort amenities and entertainment including:

  • Gaming Floor (including non-smoking & high limits gaming areas)
  • Daily Promotions
  • Bowling Alley
  • Movie Theater
  • Arcade
  • Six Dining Options
  • Pool/Hot Tub
  • Spa
  • Fitness Center
  • Culinary Studio

This park is small only about 35 sites but all were just as nice with easy access. A nice bathhouse was in the center. It is located at the back on the property so is very quiet. A free shuttle servic3e runs 24/7 and will take you back to your campsite. Everyone was extremely helpful and exceptionally friendly. I would definitely recommend to everyone.

The RV Park at Rising Star Casino near Cincinnati has more guest amenities than any RV park in Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana. Big-rig friendly pull-throughs or back-in sites, clean restrooms with private showers, laundry facilities, swimming pool, patio, grills, a free hot breakfast, golfing, and family-friendly environment makes this a go-to gaming destination for RVers.

Everything you want in a non-destination RV park. The park is secure, open and well maintained, a dog park and easy access. Both back-in and pull-through sites are available. All sites are FHU. Satellite and cell service (Verizon) are good. Discounts offered include Good Sam, AAA, AARP, FMCA and Military. A free hot breakfast is available for each night spent at the park

California: Pechanga RV Resort & Casino

More than a place to spend the night, Pechanga RV Resort in Temecula, Southern California, is a destination for luxury RV casino camping. Guests enjoy access to the casino and resort amenities throughout the entire Pechanga property, such as golfing, spa retreat, concierge arranged local wine tastings, shopping and more. This is one of the more high end casinos with RV parks because it features a variety of luxury RV sites:

  • Deluxe / Premium back-in & pull-through sites
  • Chairman sites (with picnic table, gazebo, BBQ, and fire pit)
  • Presidential sites (with picnic table, gazebo, and BBQ)
  • Buddy sites (with shared gazebos and two picnic tables)
  • Chairman Elite site (with large grass area, built-in BBQ, fire pit, picnic table, and gazebo)

The landscaping gives this park such a nice feel. Flowers, grass, and trees that are well cared for, along with smooth roads and sites make for a nice experience. Very clean. The sites are a little close, however. Easy walk to the hotel. We aren’t casino people and were pleased to find that portion of the hotel was separated from the restaurants and shops. The rates are on the pricey end, but for a two-night stay, that wasn’t a problem. The RV pool area was also very nice.

Washington: Kalispel Casino & RV Resort

Casino camping scenery doesn’t get any prettier than the Kalispell Casino & RV Resort. Located at the foot of the gorgeous Selkirk Mountains, this destination casino in Cusick, Washington, is a home away from home. In addition to the usual RV amenities like full hookups, restrooms, and showers, guests enjoy dining at Wetlands restaurant and hanging out with friends at The Slough bar. An adjacent market has food and fuel, and guest can even go swimming, work out or rock-climb by purchasing a day pass at the Camas Center located just a quick drive across the river.

This small RV park near the casino is a little gem. It is well maintained. Full hookups. It’s fairly new so plantings are minimal but the concrete roads and site pads are a plus. Plenty of grass too. We enjoyed meals at the casino. There is a gas station adjacent to the casino and we had plenty of room to navigate the motorhome for fueling. Because it is a distance from a sizeable town, it was not very populated. We were visiting friends living in the area or we would not have traveled the pitchy highway to get there. Once we were there we were quite satisfied with the park.
