Looking to escape somewhere warm? Winter’s best beach RV parks in Texas are waiting! Leave snow behind for plush resort amenities, year-round sun, palm trees and sandy Gulf Coast beaches. Here’s our top choices to find better winter weather on the Gulf Coast.

South Padre Island KOA Holiday

Along the Gulf Coast, the South Padre Island KOA Holiday is waiting with year-round fun under the tropical sun. A pool that never closes, one of the island’s largest hot tubs, a sandy playground and two rec rooms are just a few examples of the amenities. More recreational choices include basketball, tetherball, horseshoes, aerobics and water aerobics. Pier 19 Restaurant is onsite, serving up a variation of breakfast, lunch and dinner plates. Choose from favorites such as Tex-Mex flavors or fresh seafood tastes. Enjoy an evening cocktail while looking out over the bay. The restaurant is open daily from 7:00am until 10pm. Next to the restaurant are the boat and kayak launch ramps, which are free to guests.

The sunset deck is a lounge area for guests, providing panoramic views of the sunsets. In addition to the great photo opportunities at sundown and of your traveling party, the deck is a gathering place for live music. Live musical performances range from acoustic guitar, piano and the cello.

The SPI KOA is very dog friendly. There is a KampK9 dog park, complete with chairs for the dog owners. There are also two dark walk areas along the waterfront.

The RV lots range in size and vary from pull-in, pull-thru or back-in lots. A popular choice is the Regal Row sites. These premiere pull-in sites include a private deck and patio furniture. Also included is 30-50 amp electric, water, sewer, WIFI and cable TV.

Jamaica Beach RV Resort

Situated just outside the city limits of Jamaica Beach, the Jamaica Beach RV Resort provides breathtaking views of the Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. With over 180 pull-thru RV sites, offering full hookups and more amenities than any other Galveston resort, booking a stay at one of winter’s best beach RV parks in Texas is an easy choice.

There are 36 amenities available, with most popular being the free, 700-foot lazy river with in-pool attractions. There are cabanas available for rent and a pool-side snow-cone shack.  The beach pool is also free to guests and there is a Tiki bar. Additionally, there is a sauna and an outdoor hot tub.

Another free amenity is the Pirates Treasure Adventure Golf. 18-holes of mini-golf provides fun and plenty of photo-ops with the uniquely decorated course.

A laser tag outdoor field is also within the RV park, but there is an additional fee to participate.

RV Park Amenities Keep the Fun Coming

Free WIFI, 30 & 50 amp hookups, concrete pads, and propane refills and purchases are a few conveniences with this RV resort. Laundry facilities are on hand at this pet friendly establishment.

Spend some time in nature, with a variety of options ranging from bird watching to fishing. Hiking on nature trails, walking on paths leading to the bay or the beach and biking down trails are a few more examples of outdoor activities provided. Shuffleboard, pickleball and horseshoe pits are available year round.

If indoors is more your speed, spend some time at the clubhouse shooting pool or at one of the several community areas. If the life size Jenga game is scheduled during your visit, give it a try. There is also an on-site exercise room.

Gulf Waters Beachfront RV Resort

Another one of winter’s best beach RV parks in Texas is found on Mustang Island, in the town of Port Aransas. The Gulf Waters Beachfront RV Resort is a destination so welcoming that a short visit could easily turn into a lengthy stay.

Landscaping is king at Gulf Waters, with 3 large ponds, 1,600 palm trees throughout the resort and 600 feet of sandy beachfront on the Gulf of Mexico. There is a boardwalk leading to the beach and the property houses a heated pool and a heated deep spa. There is also an activities center that has scheduled events.

Each unique site has inclusions that might include pond-view patios, lush tropical vegetation, a pergola or palapa, wet bar, a fire pit, or a grill.

Choose your RV Camping Style

  • Deluxe sites provide all the necessary comforts, including 50/30 amp electric, water, sewer, WIFI and cable. There is also a concrete patio with a picnic table and an additional parking pad for another vehicle.
  • Premium sites have all the comforts of the deluxe sites, along with some upgrades. All premium sites have a view of one of the ponds, with many having waterfront patios. Other premiums feature lush landscaping that provides privacy and share, larger patio areas, an outdoor cooking area, and might also feature a palapa or pergola.
  • Executive sites have been upgraded by their owners to exceed the premium level. These include a palapa or pergola, and an outdoor kitchen area that features a sink and water.

There is golf cart access to the beach and to Port Aransas. Bring your own golf cart or rent one from the office upon arrival.

Journeying off the island, via car or golfcart, Port Aransas has a variety of entertainment to round out any stay. There is the newly re-opened Port Aransas Art Center, a community theatre, bird-watching towers and the Texas State Aquarium in the neighboring Corpus Christi. Charter a boat outing from Port Aransas Charter Fishing or visit one of the golf courses nearby.
