BILLINGS, Mont. — ZooMontana is hosting an event Saturday, March 28 designed to give a first-hand demonstration of “what ravenous Grizzly bears can do to a campsite,” KTVQ reported.
ZooMontana Executive Director Jeff Ewelt told KTVQ that ZooMontana has teamed with Cabela’s to create a mock campsite in the zoo’s Grizzly habitat, where occupants Bruno and Ozzy live. The site will have some bear-proof items and some not-so-bear-proof items as an educational demonstration on bear safety, KTVQ explained.
“With Spring upon us, it’s always important to remind folks about being safe out in the wilderness” said Ewelt to KTVQ. “We’re grateful to team up with Cabela’s to show firsthand what poor judgment around bears can lead to. It’s going to be eye opening.”
