Summary:

There is nothing more irritating than a fifth wheel trailer that rocks from side to side once you are set up. We noticed this right away and were looking for a relatively inexpensive way to stabilize our camper. The Heavy Duty King Pin Tripod by Ultra-Fab Products has done a tremendous job providing stability and a solid feeling for our family of four.

Weight is always a consideration for us when we are buying “extras” for the RV, but this is one product that you don’t want to skimp on. We highly recommend the steel tripod over some of the other lightweight options.

Pros

  • Provides side-to-side and front-to-back stabilization
  • Adjustable height from 42 to 50 inches allows for use in a variation of unlevel ground
  • Made of heavy duty steel
  • Padlock included with purchase protects against theft
  • Lifetime warranty included
  • Wide footpads help prevent sinking on soft ground
  • Optional purchase of 8-inch leg extensions available
  • The hitch ring allows for fine adjustments
  • Unique design brings the stabilizer to the king pin
  • Set up/break down takes less than a minute
  • Supports up to 5,000 pounds.
  • Available from a variety of online and in store retailers
  • Leveling jacks can be used under the footpads to give the tripod more height if needed
  • Brings attention to the king pin and prevents people from running into it
  • Leverage bar allows for quick tightening and loosening of tripod

Cons

  • The stabilizer is a bit heavy to carry (23 pounds)
  • Bolts need to be tightened once received from the store
