Sweetwater Regional Park – San Diego, Calif.

Beautiful hilltop park overlooking San Diego valley

Summary:

This is one of our favorite parks anywhere, for the views, spacious sites, and some full hookups. It has million dollar views down a grassy hill and a sliver of the ocean.

The park offered clean bathrooms with showers. The reservations need to be made at least one night ahead via the Internet, but you can call in to see if any sites are available that day. It's a little expensive for a county park, but with history displays and newly paved roads, it seemed worth it. The San Diego area has so much to do, with the beaches and parks. We would love to stay here again.
