Southgate Amateur Radio: Recreation Vehicles and Radio Hams

From Southgate Amateur Radio News

Herb and Lois Maas, broadcasting on W0HM and KA0VBG, live in a very small house — and it has a steering wheel. Their ‘permanent address’ is a mailbox in South Dakota which they visit once a year.

Otherwise, they’re on the road, spending winters somewhere in the warm South, and summers roaming North America. They’ve been doing that for five years, and they spent five years before that getting ready for it. It is the ultimate downsizing, and they love it.

Gary Pearce, broadcasting at KN4AQ, caught up with the couple at the Orlando HamCation, a hamfest with a huge area for RVs right on the fairgrounds.
