It had been two years since we were in Red Bay, Ala. Actually, we missed it! Before we had set up, I met and visited with our neighbor, Russ, who is retired Air Force and a F-16 pilot.
We planned to be here in time to beat the “snowbird” rush. It worked out well. We arrived on Monday Feb. 29 and finished up today, Monday Mar. 7.
Tuesday morning we were called into bay 40 for a front suspension “update”.
Our coach has an Independent Front Suspension manufactured by ZF Friedrichshafen AG. Christian, a representative from ZF was at Tiffin to inspect 20 coaches with the ZF suspension. The king pins are in place with caps at the top and at the bottom. Grease and air are in these cylinders. Christian was looking at the bottom caps to determine if they have scratches from a king pin that might have shifted. He was expecting to discover that age and mileage increased the chance of possible scratches.
