Central Oregon contains a wealth of interesting rocks – agate, jasper, lava, malachite, obsidian, petrified wood and thundereggs.
Rasmus Petersen, a Danish emigrant, saw the beauty in them and used his large collection to build ponds, bridges, mountains, castles and even the Statue of Liberty. He worked on the garden for 17 years until his death in 1952.
