When most people think of St Augustine, they think of the nation’s oldest city. History buffs might visualize the fort known as Castillo de San Marcos, or Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth. Others may even long for St Augustine’s many outlet malls. But, I’m not much of a shopper…so instead I think about the St Augustine Distillery Company.
We didn’t realize that this small, boutique distillery was #1 on TripAdvisors’s Things to Do in St Augustine until after our visit. In fact we just happened onto the distillery during a four-day weekend at the North Beach Camp Resort in St Augustine. Though the campground was fine, I frankly didn’t like it any better than the state park nearby which is less than half the price, and is just a bit closer to downtown St Augustine.
