RV Picklers: Fort Huachuca museums

Since we don’t tow, we are always happy to find interesting things to do near our campsite.  Fortunately, Fort Huachuca offers two museums on base that are fun, educational and free (donation encouraged).

Fort Huachuca History Museum

Founded in 1877 as a temporary outpost by Captain Samuel Whitside and two companies of the 6th Calvary, Fort Huachuca became a permanent military installation in 1882.  At the turn of the 20th century, it became the infantry training center for African-American soldiers.
