Sometimes a quick pickleball tip will resonate with someone. And that is my hope for you today, as I share one of my favorite quick tips…imagine you are hitting the ball with the palm of your hand.
Too much movement
Many players have too much paddle movement, causing them to overuse their wrists and elbows. For example, when dinking, players may have the tendency to bend their elbow or wrist and scoop the ball upwards. We all know that getting the ball up above the net invites your opponent to capitalize.
Imagine hitting with your palm
Instead of the paddle, I want you to imagine you are hitting the ball with the palm of your hand. Think how you would move to the ball, and how you would follow through. If it was just the palm of your hand, you would likely extend from your shoulder pushing the ball gently over the net.
