RV Picklers: Planning a camping trip with children

From the bloggers at RV Picklers.

A friend called us to ask our help in planning a camping trip with children. A single dad with 10 and 14-year-old boys, he has never camped or RV’ed before. We don’t have children but we do recall being newbie RVers less than 2 years ago, so we were excited to help.

He had already found a RV dealer near his home that rented Class C motorhomes by the week.  That was good news as the start date for the trip is less than 5 weeks away.  The cost for either the 25′ or 30′ 2016 unit was $1600 week, plus fuel. He had an allowance of 100 miles a day. Beyond that, he would be charged $0.35 a mile.
