RV Picklers: 3 weird festivals for RV travelers this September

From the bloggers at RV Picklers.

We continue our weird festivals series with our top 3 list for September.  Each is a perennial favorite.  So as you plan your September travels consider:

Sept. 2-3:  Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw & Festival

If you missed Oklahoma’s festival in April, take heart you can still make Wisconsin’s version Sept. 2-3. With the tagline, “No gloves, licking your hands is allowed to get a better grip,” the annual Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw and Festival is all about fun.

Recognized as the state’s “official state muffin,” the cow chip holds an important place in this state’s history. Nancy Bannan with a throw of 62′ and Reb Bishop with a throw of 107′ won the first Cow Chip Throw contest in 1975.
