Thanksgiving may bring memories of smells from the kitchen filling a home. A dining room table covered with family favorites and a large turkey in the center. The room is filled with family and friends laughing and talking.
For the RVer, the tradition may continue by living close or traveling to family, but for most, Thanksgiving is spent farther away.
For those spending the first Thanksgiving away from family, here are some ways to keep the tradition while creating new ones.
Most RV parks with clubhouses will host a Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey or ham may be provided by the park while each resident brings a covered dish.
This makes it possible to choose a favorite family traditional dish to prepare and share with neighbors. Even though the group may be large, visiting with those sitting close and sharing memories of Thanksgiving dinners of the past can be the beginning of new friendships.
