RV Life: Popular Camping spots to enjoy Easter weekend

Spring officially arrived a couple days ago and Easter is March 27. Now, if you are like many RVers, spring signals the start of the camping season and after a long winter many are anxious to get out on their first camping trip. However, with Easter being fairly early this year the first weekend of Spring and Easter weekend are held simultaneously. What is a RVer to do?

Well celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and camping need not be exclusive of each other. Many RV parks and public campgrounds provide a way for RVers to celebrate Easter while enjoying a weekend of camping.

Georgia’s Stone Mountain State Park offers a wide variety of family activities set among 3,200 acres of natural beauty. The park offers hundreds of campsites for those celebrating Easter atop Stone Mountain. The sunrise service began in 1944, before the land around Stone Mountain was officially owned by the State of Georgia. Lucille Lanford of Stone Mountain’s First United Methodist Church, suggested that the church’s youth group climb to the top of Stone Mountain on Easter morning to watch the sunrise. The event has become a tradition ever since and today participants can ride a cable car to the top of the mountain. Click here for more information
