A total restoration of the 1909 capitol was completed in 2008. The four year project followed the original plans and opened the fourth floor to overlook the rotunda.
This space had initially been closed in with a hallway and offices due to a lack of money. Beautiful murals, painted during the 1930s as part of the public works program, have also been restored.
