Roadtreking: Sniffing in the odd corners of the Pomona RV show

From the bloggers at Roadtreking.

I like to walk around and find the unusual things at the shows I attend like the big one this week in Pomona, Calif. Everything that’s different is up for sniffing around.

I’ve found a few interesting RVs and one “thing” that I have no idea what it’s for, and neither do the salesguys.

First up, El Kapitan.  This is a fun, all season, minimalistic 4×4 RV on the short Sprinter chassis.  Floor is plastic, cabinets are aluminum, there are machined anchor points for bikes and gear all over the place.

The bed comes out completely and you can mount up to 4 bikes vertically.  The second row seats come out if you need more space.  It’s a bit limited on creature comforts; it has a porta-potty and an outside shower.  Hot water and heat is provided by a Webasto Dualtop. There is no galley; there is however a top end Isotherm fridge for all the manly beer you need to carry.
