Roadtreking: How to make your own campfire starters

From the bloggers at Roadtreking.

As we have prepared for the new camping season we’ve been anticipating sitting around the campfire, sharing stories, roasting hotdogs and enjoying s’mores.  All of that made me think, “Do I have enough fire starters for the camping season?”

Here’s the needed items:

Wax – Old/leftover candles, wax crayons, bricks of paraffin (My family saves their old candle stubs etc., for me).

Clean Large Empty Soup Can or Small Coffee Can – To melt wax in

Paper or Wax Coated Bathroom Cups – 3 or 5 once size work the best

Wood Shavings, Sawdust, Dryer Lint or Small Corrugated Cardboard Pieces Coiled – I prefer wood shavings from cutting wood with a chain saw. A paper lunch sack full of wood shavings will makes a lot of starters.
