On the Road of Retirement: Last days in Canyon Lake, a fawn is born and moving north

Our last weekend in Canyon Lake went by pretty fast.  We did get in a hike across the dam at Canyon Lake, a dip in the river at Guadalupe State Park and we did get to see a fawn born at the park early one morning.

We also made a road trip over to San Antonio Texas to visit our son and his family at their house and we had hoped to get in a few hikes with them but the weather was not cooperative as it rained off and on the whole time we were there.

We did, however, make time to smoke some pork shoulders (about 15 pounds) and it yielded some fantastic smoked pulled pork after about 10 hours at 250 on my son’s smoker.
