Recipe of the Week: Easy doughnuts

Each week, Let’s RV will publish one recipe each week from the RV Centennial Cookbook authored by Evada Cooper.

The book features a collection of recipes submitted by RVers themselves. The company is providing the recipes in hopes of encouraging RVers to submit more recipes to be included in a new edition expected to be published soon.

This week’s recipe is for easy doughnuts. It was submitted by Jim from Watertown, Wisc. He owns a Class A motorhome and has been RVing for 25 years.

Ingredients:

  • “Grand’s” type biscuits (not the layered ones)
  • sugar or powdered sugar (optional)
  • cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

Use a Dutch oven with bale handle over fire on a tripod. Separate the biscuits and break in half for easier cooking. Flatten or make hole so it looks like a real doughnut. Flip often to keep from overcooking and turn in powdered sugar or cinnamon and sugar or whatever you like on yours.
