Passport America’s Fun Rally slated for July 1-5

SEDALIA, Mo. — Passport America is hosting a Fourth of July Celebration during it Fun Rally at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, Mo. The event features activities and food, including four nights of camping, four meals, coffee and donuts each morning, an ice cream social, three nights of entertainment, vendors and seminars, games and more. Additional events at the venue may include a fireworks display, a horse show and a national dog show.

The Missouri State Fairgrounds have RV sites with 30/50amp Full Hookup sites (electric, water and sewer). There are restrooms, showers and three dump stations on the grounds. Move in will be on Wed., July 1, 2013. Early birds may arrive Tues., June 30. Groups of two or more that wish to park together must arrive together.

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

  • 9 am – 5 pm: Check-in at Registration
  • 1 pm – 4 pm: Vendors open
  • 6:15 pm: Dinner and Beverages: Our Traditional BBQ Pork
  • 7 pm: Entertainment: Kansas City’s premier country western and country rock band, Big Time Grain Company is scattering seeds of songs that will take you back to the roots of a little western Kansas town.

  • 7:30 am – 9 am: Opening day: Coffee & Donuts
  • 9 am –  4 pm: Seminars/vendors

  • 9:30 am – 5 pm: WWI Museum/Union Station Tour: Ranked One of Kansas City’s Top Attractions, the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial is America’s only museum dedicated to sharing the stories of the Great War through the eyes of those who lived it. In 1920 the museum began collecting objects and documents from all nations involved in the First World War and nearly 100 years later, it is home to one of the largest Great War collections in the world, with more than 75,000 items strong. Have lunch on your own at the Over There Café, dine surrounded by WWI themed décor featuring the flags of the Allied and Central Powers, a poppy field mural and music of the era. At 2 pm, it’s onto Union Station to marvel at her Grand hall’s 95-foot ceilings’ three 3’500 pound chandeliers and 6-foot wide clock hanging in her central arch. Eat dinner at one of several restaurants located within Union Station. (Transportation provided) (Lunch on your own)

  • 7 pm: Entertainment: Rik Roberts creates excitement through clean comedy and connecting with the audience.

  • 7:30am – 9 am Coffee & Donuts
  • 8:45am – 1:30pm: Harley-Davidson factory tour (8:45am – 11 am)/Arthur Bryant’s Lunch (11:30 am-1:30 pm): The 358,000-square-foot Harley-Davidson Vehicle and Powertrain operations feature a series of displays that guide you through the various manufacturing and assembly processes where you will have the chance to sit on current production motorcycles. Begin your tour with an introductory video and then it’s off to the factory were you will witness a wide range of operations from welding, laser-cutting, frame bending to polishing and assembly. After the Harley-Davidson Factory, there will be a pit stop for some legendary Kansas City Barbecue at Arthur Bryan’s, founded in 1920 by Charlie Bryant. (Transportation/Lunch provided)
  • 9 am – 4 pm: Seminars/Vendors
  • 10 am: Pet Parade with prizes awarded
  • 2:30 pm: Ice cream social
  • 3:30 pm: Horseshoe tournament: (Details in Rally Guide)
  • 4:30 pm: Attendee jam session
  • 6:15 pm: Dinner & beverages: Papa John’s Pizza
  • 7 pm: Entertainment: Rally game show: Mr. Smooth will be hosting audience-participation games. Get ready to play and/or root for your friends!
