Situated in the scenic Turtle Mountains near the US/Canadian border, Lake Metigoshe State Park was constructed by the WPA in the 1930s and is one of the most popular vacation spots in North Dakota. (You’ll want to make reservations.)
The park, 14 miles northeast of Bottineau, is adjacent to the southwest corner of Manitoba’s large Turtle Mountain Provincial Park. “We stayed here for a week while our daughter was at the International Music Camp,” writes Campendium reviewer “Streamy”.
