Peter and Kathy Holcombe did what many would like to do but few have the guts to do.
More than two years ago, the former University of Oklahoma graduates with a passion for the outdoors, sold their house in Boulder, Colo., and most of its contents. They bought a Winnebago and began traveling around the country with their then 10-year-old daughter, Abby.
Home is now where they park it.
“Name a river in North America, and we’ve pretty much been there,” Peter said.
Their family adventures have included rock climbing in Yosemite National Park, halibut fishing in Alaska, canyoneering in Zion National Park, kayaking the Snake River, snorkeling in the Florida Keys, backpacking in the Smokey Mountains and duck hunting in the Louisiana bayou. And those are just a few examples.
