From the Monterey Herald.
If you’re looking to get connected after the Big Sur International Marathon, just head over to the Classic Airstream RV.
While the Airstream may look antiquated on the outside, it is full of state-of-the-art technology on the inside and houses the marathon’s Social Media Center. It’s equipped with a satellite dish for mobile Wi-Fi, four solar panels for remote settings, three HD online television screens (two inside, one outside), two computer workstations and video production facilities, which have been used to create short videos throughout race week.
The shape of the Airstream makes for a perfect sound studio, said Maren Elwood, owner and president of Digital Divas Rock, a local company that is running the Social Media Center.
“What we’re really hoping to do is engage the community and create a sense of community with social media,” Elwood said. “We did a project similar to this with the Carmel International Film Festival last year.”
