At Nevada City’s new Inn Town Campground, the safari-style glamping tents boast cozy beds, vintage furniture and electric blankets — and the camp store traffics in gourmet marshmallows and sauvignon blanc. Ah, wilderness.
When innkeepers Dan and Erin Thiem opened their new 15-acre glamp-ground in July, just a few minutes drive from the pubs and boutiques of the historic downtown district, they put in traditional tent sites and RV hook-ups, as you might expect. But they also added a dense row of 15 glamping tents, adorably — and comfortably — decked out with night stands, comfy beds and reading lights, and private decks with Adirondack-style chairs.
