Hudson Crider remembers feeling nervous about telling his dad the plans he and his wife, Emily, had made.
The high school sweethearts had talked for years about traveling to all 50 states in a recreational vehicle. After they married in June 2012, they decided it was a dream they wanted to make a reality.
And, despite his nervousness, the first person Crider told was his dad, Rick Crider.
“I figured he would talk more about my career and future,” Hudson Crider says. Instead, his father took him to a RV show to help set the dream in motion.
Then, on Feb. 26, 2015, Rick Crider died unexpectedly of a heart attack at age 55.
“As hard as it’s been, it’s also been a good reminder to not wait until we are retired to live our dreams,” Emily Crider says.
“Every day I still think about him,” his son says.
