Camping recipes don’t have to be limited to burnt hot dogs and charred marshmallows. With a little practice and patience, you can easily cook a gourmet meal right outside of your tent! All you’ll need are a few basic tools, some grub, and a great attitude.
To kick things off, there are a huge number of campfire cooking utensils available to buy. A cast iron pan, for example, will quickly become an outdoor chef’s best friend. Those bad boys are tough, durable, and allow you to cook a wide array of delicious camping recipes.
Putting a pot of chili on to simmer over a smoldering campfire for the day is a classic camping recipe and is also a great place to start expanding your campfire cooking horizons. You can do a lot of the prep work at home and make your life around the campfire even easier. You can’t go wrong with a basic tomato-based recipe. You won’t believe how good a hot bowl of chili will taste after a day full of hiking.
