After months of planning, saving money and crossing the stage at their graduations, six Farragut High School graduates took the trip of a lifetime this summer, traveling through 35 states and Canada over a two-month span.
Longtime friends Spencer Ferguson, Matthew McCown, Braden Wiebe, Derek Williams, Michael Lucas and Bryce Bushon made their journey from May 20 to July 14 in a 1995 Ford E350 Gulfstream RV packed full of camping and hiking gear, foods like ramen noodles and quick-cook rice and their bikes.
They travelled up the East Coast into New York and Canada, then headed southwest to Texas, went up the coast in California to Washington and then came back through Colorado and North and South Dakota before eventually returning to Tennessee. They rode their bikes through cities including Washington D.C., New York City, San Diego, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City and more, saw the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls and hiked national parks.
