Gypsy Journal RV: Rain on the roof

From the bloggers at Gypsy Journal RV.

Is there any better way to sleep than with the sound of rain on the roof of your RV? If there is, I haven’t found it yet. It beats the heck out of any kind of over-the-counter or prescription sleep aid ever invented as far as I’m concerned.

We got a late start yesterday just because we wanted to stay in bed and snuggle and we didn’t have anything else that we had to do. With the number of diesel rigs I heard starting up, when we finally did get up and look outside I expected to see the campground pretty much empty. But apparently just as many came in to fill their spaces once they were vacated, because there are still lots of folks here.

Sometime in mid-afternoon we decided to drive down to WalMart to do some shopping, and I wanted to get the oil changed in our Explorer. There were two other vehicles waiting for service in the oil change lane, so I parked and went in to see how long it would be. The young man behind the counter told me 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours. You’ve got to be kidding me! Any of the Jiffy Lube or Oil Can Henry’s type of places that I’ve ever been to can have you out in half an hour or 45 minutes, even on a busy day.
