Dogs are said to be man’s best friend. But you can’t always take them with you everywhere you go. Sure, their wagging tails, puppy eyes and unconditional love bring great company on a trip, but it still requires some extra planning to make sure where you’re staying will allow them too.
Most campgrounds are dog-friendly these days, but they often have a specific pet policy. Most ask that you use a leash when they’re outside of your vehicle, while other places actually have a designated area where you can let them run free. And of course, you’ve always got to clean up after them. But that’s just part of being a pet owner, right?
California is a wonderful place to make a trip with your dog. There are pet-friendly options galore, not to mention the unparalleled oceanside views and attractions for the whole family – from places for wine lovers to major theme parks for the little ones.
