Recently I looked up the definition of adventure and found that it means an exciting or unusual experience. I think it’s safe to say that all RV trips are adventures with some bolder than others. An RV surfing trip is one of those bold adventures.
Growing up in Minnesota, I never got into surfing. Nobody I knew had ever surfed or talked about surfing, but when I moved to Orange County, Calif., I was thrown into the surfing culture. Although I had a lot of friends who were surfers, it took me awhile to get into it. I was drawn into surf photography, but stayed out of the water.
It wasn’t until I moved to the beach that I made the decision to learn to surf. I wasn’t going to live in one of the best surf spots in the country and not become a surfer. So I bought a board, got myself a wetsuit and, after hours of learning on YouTube how to surf, I went out to give it a shot.
