Since we had good enough results with week one, I decided to have the next week shipped even though Keith would be out of town. I was rather curious to see if I would cook just for myself and if leftovers would work out.
The answer is if you’re willing to be a bit creative, Blue Apron deliveries even work when you’re cooking for one.
The first meal I decided to make was the Pan-Seared Steaks. I will say I have been rather disappointed in the meat quality sent. Two ‘steaks’ are sent without giving you any information as to the cut. And they are tough when cooked. Even when I cooked the two steaks medium rare they were tough. I read over some comments afterwards and many long time users of Blue Apron tenderize the beef before using it. Unfortunately, that does add another step and time to making it.
