Dometic introduces new Blizzard air conditioner

Dometic Group introduced the new Blizzard NXT, what the company calls its sleekest and best-performing rooftop climate control unit for RVs.

“The Blizzard NXT is the best A/C and heat pump in the industry, providing RVs with high-capacity cooling and heating for year-round comfort,” said Dave Schutz, vice president of OEM sales and marketing. “RVers will be delighted with the powerful air flow and head-turning design.”

The Blizzard NXT has been designed from the ground up with a more powerful motor and fan than previous models to provide 350 cubic feet per minute of airflow and advanced engineering that maximizes air flow around the evaporator coils for better and more efficient cooling performance, the release explained.

Expanded polypropylene (EPP foam) construction provides better insulation and also reduces weight and unwanted condensation. In this new internal design the use of heavy sheet metal is minimized to improve performance and eliminate noise issues, said Schutz.

The Blizzard NXT is sleek and aerodynamic, with a composite base pan and injection-molded shroud that are UV stable and rated for high impact. The rooftop unit has been stringently tested for durability in the most extreme environmental conditions.

With more capacity and higher air flow, the Blizzard NXT is ideal for QuietZone ducted-return applications and is available pre-configured for quick installation with modular connectors, reinforced steel mounting plates, and density-optimized gaskets and mounting blocks, the company noted. Owners can also install the Blizzard NXT ducted directly into the RV with a return-air grille for single- or multiple-zone systems.

It is compatible with Dometic Single Zone LCD or CCC II multi-zone thermostats, providing a perfect cooling solution for fifth wheels, travel trailers, and motorhomes.

The Blizzard NXT comes in white/black or black/black with air conditioner and heat pump models available in capacities of 13,500 and 15,000 Btus.
