From the bloggers at Do It Yourself RV:
There’s not much in life that beats free. And when it comes to camping, free wins any day. Free camping outside of an established campground, also known as boondocking, is popular among travelers who long to get away from crowded campgrounds and experience camping the way it was meant to be.
One of the most challenging parts of boondocking is finding suitable sites. People who travel in RVs are not always eager to drive down unknown roads, and maps don’t always tell the whole story.
Luckily, there are a growing number of online resources to assist in finding the perfect boondocking site. One of these resources is a relatively new website called Campendium.
