Summary:

Deerwood RV Park in Eugene, Ore., bills itself as a "luxury" RV park, but outside of the landscape, I don't see what warrants the distinction. It is a nice enough park, but you won't find any amenities except for high speed Internet, which works very well. The speed test clocked the campground connection at 13.36 mbs upload and 11.78 mbs download. Verizon came it at 17.99 upload and 12.31 mbs download.

The campground is easily accessible less than one-half mile from Interstate 5, just south of Eugene. All sites are paved and include a tiny metal table and two chairs. A creek runs through the park and is home to some bullfrogs that serenade guests each evening. The sites are well landscaped.

Highway 58 is adjacent to the south side of the park, and sites on that side will experience heavy traffic noise. The shower facilities are located at the entrance to the park and will be a significant walk uphill for most guests. Most of the sites are back in, although there are six pull-through sites. Site sizes range from 45 feet to 75 feet and include full hookups plus cable TV.

The 75 sites at the park share two washers and two dryers, so it's best to use a laundromat in the local community than hoof it up the hill to see if the equipment is available. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating.
