Daily Press: Where to stop when traveling around Lake Tahoe

From the writers at Daily Press.

Of all the splendid scenery of the Sierra Nevada, nothing quite matches the beauty of Lake Tahoe. Nestled at a crispy clean 6,225 feet, Lake Tahoe is 22 miles long. This lake has a surface area of over 191 square miles. Russ and Lori have experienced a day trip like no other here. To drive around Lake Tahoe is about 72 miles.

A great starting point is at South Lake Tahoe. If you are towing a travel trailer or have an RV, we suggest taking Interstate 395 to Carson City. Take a left and go west up the mountain on Highway 50. Get to your campground and get set up. Your next day can be a ‘round the lake adventure.
