Daily Miner: Snowbirds aren’t the only flock to perch at local RV parks

Some come to escape cold winters, others are just passing through town and yet another segment makes their permanent residence at RV parks and campgrounds throughout Mohave County.

Folks like Charles House, who came from Oregon six months ago because he doesn’t like snow. Fifteen inches a year of rain and snow caused a lot of damage to his motor home, and he had to replace two air conditioners, House said.

He first lived at Silver View RV Park in Bullhead City, then moved to Circle S Campground in Kingman to be closer to his doctor.

“This is a good park, it’s managed well, and my uncle was Andy Devine,” the retired movie studio make-up artist said. “It’s centrally located. Some people like parks with more amenities. I don’t use the pool or gym or Jacuzzi, things I’d have to pay for.”
