This past weekend, I spent time in an RV park in Rockford, Ill. As I was walking my dog after dark one night, I felt a shimmering sensation radiating from the corner of the park.
One of the lots was twinkling and … humming? When I realized what it was, I ran to get my son. I found him alone in a field practicing his Jedi moves with a light saber.
“Come quick, G. You have to see this.”
I had never heard of a garden railroad but apparently it’s a thing, and it is just what it sounds like – model railroads that are landscaped into a garden.
Maribeth downplays this Rockford marvel that she and her husband of forty-three years have created. “This is small potatoes in the world of railroad gardens,” she said.
