The Casper Journal: Trailers are amazing, but require tender care

We have had two trailers: a ’98 Jayco and a ’09 Cougar. These are fifth-wheel trailers, which hook to a hitch between the wheels in the bed of the truck. The Jayco was more solidly built, while the Cougar was a dozen years more advanced and built lighter, but maybe just as strong. The Cougar is 35 feet long from the front wall to the back wall, eight feet wide, with a three foot shelf that extends out the back where we store our bicycles, just perfect for us.

The cats have a better couch to lie on and watch out the window in the Cougar. As we lost Thelma this spring, now it is just Louise, but she seems to make more noise than ever – mindless, random howling, missing Thelma.
