Summary:

On the banks of the majestic Mississippi River, in the shadow of the gigantic Gateway Arch in St. Louis, the Casino Queen is dwarfed by the tall grain silos directly south of the hotel and casino. Upriver, huge bridges span the mighty Mississippi while rafts of barges loaded with grain, coal and diverse materials move slowly up and downstream to docks on both sides of the river. Overhead, the Metro train makes the East River/Casino stop for passengers going east or west, as far west as the St. Louis International Airport. The Casino Queen extends a welcome to all those who wish to test their luck, park their RV or tour the city via Metro, bus or car.

Many casinos allow either free RV parking or have an RV resort on location. The Casino Queen does both. The Casino Queen RV resort has approximately 125 spacious, well maintained sites up to 70 feet in length.

The Metro station access is equally easy. Metro costs for seniors round-trip total $2.50 and the Metro connects with the bus system to reach most of the interesting, exciting and intriguing locations in the Gateway city.

The city of St. Louis and surrounding countryside in Illinois and Missouri has dozens of day trips that will keep visitors interested and busy throughout much of the year. Professional sports, museums, zoos, parks, historical sites, rivers, hospitals, universities, the Gateway Arch and the Lewis and Clark Museum combine with a wealth of similar locations, activities and events that are available in this great metropolis.

Come to the Casino Queen, enjoy the numerous amenities, stay at the RV resort, take day trips, immerse yourself in the many, many enticing opportunities in the city and country by using this neat, clean, ideal and well-managed RV resort as your home base.

Pros

  • 10 percent discount for FMCA, AAA and military
  • All sites include full hookups
  • Close to the shower room, laundry and many markets.
  • Streets are wide and all sites are entered easily, even by large rigs.
  • At the entrance to the resort is a truck parking lot where RVs may be parked for 24 to 72 hours.
  • Security patrols both the lots and the resort.
  • Although the Metro tracks are adjacent to the casino parking lot and other trains are also nearby, the street and river noises are certainly tolerable.
  • Casino gaming floors, restaurant and hotel are approximately one-quarter mile from the campsites, and is a level, easy walk.

Cons

  • No tent camping or boon docking are allowed within the resort.
  • During the harvest season, dozens of grain trucks drive by the casino and RV resort each day to unload grain at the grain depot.
  • Some Rvers may be disturbed by the sounds of the Metro and the nearby I-64. Just remember that the casino is located immediately across the river from downtown St. Louis.
