Florida is a hugely popular spring break destination. People travel from all over the state to experience the many things our beautiful state offers, like Disney World, Universal Studios, Busch Gardens and the Everglades (how cool is that last one?!) Those places are likely to be backed (almost year ‘round) so if you’d rather have a more tame vacation, we’ve got some stunning beaches that deserve your attention.
Cannon Beach and Far Beach
Both located in John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, these beaches are perfect for relaxing, working on your natural intake of vitamin D and maybe even going for a dip! Cannon Beach gets its name from a 17th century cannon located right on the beach and just 100 feet offshore is the remnants of a shipwreck. These beaches are perfect for the whole family. The calms waters are great for littles still learning or not knowing how to swim yet. Other activities in the park include fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and glass bottom boat tours are available. These tours last for a couple of hours and for the snorkeling, scuba diving tours, canoes, kayaks and paddle boats, equipment rentals are available.
