Summary:

The Blue Ox Aventa LX (BX7445) tow bar is one of the more heavy duty tow bars that Blue Ox offers.

It’s a Class IV rated tow bar and has a 10,000-pound towing capacity. This is ideal for RVers who tow pick up trucks, SUVs or larger vehicles.

The Aventa LX also has a slightly different design than other Blue Ox tow bars. It has a ball-in-socket design rather than the leg assembly being bolted to the hitch connector. The ball-in-socket design allows for a 360-degree range of motion for the legs.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Aventa LX tow bar by Blue Ox. The heavy duty rating for this tow bar gives me peace-of-mind that my vehicle and all the contents will be safe while being towed.

The performance it delivers on the road is very dependable and hardly noticeable. I have had two Blue Ox tow bars and this will be the manufacturer I go to when I need my next one.

Bryanna - Blue Ox 3

Pros

  • 10,000 towing capacity.
  • Ball-in-socket design allowing much more range of motion compared to other Blue Ox models
  • Ease of connecting/disconnecting. The extending legs and swivel joints make it very easy to attach your vehicle even if you aren’t level with the RV.
  • Stowing capability.
  • Towing performance. This is the biggest and most important, and is definitely a pro. The vehicle stays in place without any sway.
  • Customer service.
  • 10,000 lb. safety cables. The cables match the towing capacity of the tow bar, which is critical in an emergency situation. The cables have large, spring-closed hooks to attach to your motorhome and car. Remember, always cross these cables UNDER the tow bar.

Cons

  • At 42 pounds, the weight of tow bar makes it difficult to handle and move.
  • With a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $895, it is pricey.
  • Break-in period. Out of the box, the Aventa LX is pretty rigid and strenuous to bend. Over time and use, the tow bar moves with less effort.
