Aransas Pass Progress: RV lifestyles beach & bay boondocking

From the writers at Aransas Pass Progress.

Looking for a place to boondock in your RV close to the water in the North Bay area? Along Highway 361 east of Aransas Pass, “The Flats” campsites are along Redfish Bay.

“We like it because it is easy access to the boats and fishing is right there across the cut and it beats running all over the bay,” said Tommy Lively of Lufkin.

Lufkin’s son and nephew brought their RVs for the second year for a family Fourth of July long weekend together. With a large canopy set up for shade, the family had a place to enjoy RVing away from the usual RV parks.

He explained all that was needed was a $15 permit for seven days from the City of Aransas Pass. There is no electricity or water along The Flats and campers must provide bathroom sanitation facilities as well as trash containers.
