Aluminarium: RV camping in Asheville, N.C.

From the bloggers at Aluminarium.

I have our itinerary mapped out pretty far in advance, and we currently have reservations through this coming April. That means I’m booking campsites up to a year in advance depending on the booking window for a particular location. Florida state parks are 11 months in advance, Michigan was 6 months. So I actually was booking Florida and Michigan at the same time while we were camping in Texas.

For private parks, I’ve found that 6 months in advance is usually safe, however, I learned that is not the case for the peak Fall foliage season in Asheville, N.C.

Six months ago I tried to get us into Mama Gertie’s and Campfire Lodgings. Neither had availability for 2 weeks in October.
