Aluminarium: Camping in and around San Francisco

Out of all of the options we’ve tried for camping in and around San Francisco, our favorite spot is our current location at Anthony Chabot Regional Park.

It’s not in the city, but for us, it’s close enough and the camping experience is a lot more enjoyable than the other options.

Our old go-to spot was Half Moon Bay State Beach south of the city, but the campsites are close together and used to be dry camping only. Now they have electricity which at least cuts out the neighboring generator noise.
